The Cage. (Tygers of Pan Tang album) The Cage is a 1982 album by British heavy metal band Tygers of Pan Tang, released on MCA Records. It marked a move in a more commercial direction, selling over 200,000 copies and giving birth to two top 50 songs in the UK, namely the covers of Leiber & Stoller 's "Love Potion No. 9" and the lesser known RPM song "Rendezvous".

Despite an incredibly promising start two years earlier, the Tygers of Pan Tang were August 25th, 2008. Recording information: Produced by Peter Collins for Loose End Production. The Tygers of Pan Tang lost their balls. Their first two albums are classics in the NWOBHM movement, and their third, while being sort of unmemorable, is enjoyable enough. But this, this is just fucking horrid! An easy way to describe the music on this album is sugar coated, ultra commercial pop rock that is lifeless and pointless.
The sugar coated polished songs were a major disappointment for me, and I barely listened to the album. Now in 2017 I dug out my old Tygers LPs and I still loved Wild Cat, Spellbound and Crazy Nights. And my biggest surprise: The Cage ROCKS!
